|A message to our family, friends, partners and patrons:
With all that is assaulting American small business today, things that under normal circumstances would not even exist, many of us, especially in the hospitality world, are being forced to make difficult and unthinkable decisions every day. To that end, we at Relentless Restaurant Group have come to the difficult and uncomfortable conclusion that, due to the overall current business environment and uncertainty caused by the spectre of another government-mandated shut-down, RRG will be adopting a seasonal model; and the Lodge at Smith Point will be closing for the season after service Sunday 11 October, 2020. We will be evaluating the business climate and government response to the current health "crisis" and make decisions in response in the future. That said, it is unlikely that we will re-open before spring 2021.
We'd like to thank all of our customers, regulars and sporadic alike, for supporting and understanding our vision. You've been outstanding! We hope to see you again sooner rather than later. To the Team at the Lodge, what can we say? Each and every one of you has stepped up in these uncertain times and behaved in an exemplary manner. Note to anyone looking to add to their team: This team of rockstars will each have letters or recommendation and would be an outstanding addition to your team AFTER we have wound things down. ;-) . Also, let's please support the local restaurants like Ackerly's, Dockside and JP China, that are staying the course in these trying times. They can all use your support.
This was a data-driven decision based on current, near and long-term forecasts; and an overall sense that now is a a time to re-trench and see where this "new normal" takes us. Not an easy one to say the least! For the time being, however, please visit the Lodge to enjoy the Food, Drink and Conversation to which you have become accustomed and let's nor say Goodbye. Rather, let's say, Until we see you again!
The Lodge at Smith Point serves fresh, thoughtful dishes that are diverse enough to suit any taste. Owner Mark Poirier describes it as "Food with flair… It's taking favorites and (to quote Emeril Lagasse) kicking it up a notch."
We've created an experience that is comfortable, relaxing and has been described by customers as "feeling like you're home."
Located in Alton, New Hampshire, home of Alton Bay - the Southern-most part of Lake Winnipesaukee. The restaurant is housed in one of the Lakes Region's most iconic buildings: The William Tell Inn. Built in the 1920s this has been the site of several restaurants and reportedly housed a speakeasy in the basement during prohibition!
